ZANESVILLE, Ohio — Two hours after Belmont County law enforcement officials identified Brian Hatfield as a wanted man, the former Harrison Township EMS Chief was being booked back into Muskingum County Jail, his bond revoked.

A nationwide warrant was issued for the 39-year-old earlier this month after he violated the conditions of his bond by skipping a court-mandated appointment. He was arrested just after 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, a short distance from the West Virginia border, according to officials at the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office.

Hatfield, accused of misspending $500,000 of EMS funds along with six other board members, originally had his bond set at $100,000. In August, Muskingum County Common Pleas Judge Kelly Cottrill reduced Hatfield’s bond to $5,000, and Hatfield posted the amount with help from a private bond company.
