A Union County ambulance carrying a patient to the hospital overturned on state Road 121 on Sunday night after a car forced the vehicle off the road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Two EMS workers and three passengers in the ambulance suffered minor injures and were transported to Shands Medical Center in Gainesville.
According to the incident report, the ambulance was headed south at 8:10 p.m. when a northbound car veered into the southbound lane. The ambulance left the roadway and struck the guardrail to avoid a head-on collision. The ambulance overturned on its left side and came to rest on the highway. ...
