Tributes paid to UK medic killed in crash

HAMPSHIRE, UK — Tributes have been paid to a Hampshire paramedic who died when her ambulance collided with a tree.

Gillian Randall, 42, was at the wheel traveling towards Lyndhurst on the A337 when the ambulance left the road and hit a tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Patient Francis Ironside, 88, of Lymington, also died in the crash, which took place at 9:35 a.m. on Friday, April 26.

In a statement, Miss Randall’s partner Steven Tough said: “Gill, you were my partner, my friend and my lover. You will always be in my heart, my thoughts and in my memories. I love you Gill. Sleep tight and rest in peace.”

Her parents the Reverend Michael White and the Reverend Doreen White said: “Gill was our beloved daughter who brought much joy and happiness into our lives. We will miss her terribly as will the rest of our family.”

South Central Ambulance Service has opened an online book of condolence where people can leave their tributes to Miss Randall.

A 25-year-old motorist arrested at the crash scene on suspicion of causing death by careless driving has been bailed until Monday, July 29.
