SARPY COUNTY, Neb. — A patient and two EMTs were injured when an ambulance rolled over in Neb. Wednesday afternoon.
Two other vehicles were involved in the accident: A dump truck and a white car, Lt. Mike Erhart of the Sarpy County County Sheriff’s Office told The Omaha.
The dump truck was passing through the intersection on a green light but had stopped halfway through because the ambulance was approaching with its lights and siren activated. The white car apparently didn’t see or hear the emergency vehicle, went around the truck and collided with the ambulance.
The ambulance hit a concrete divider and landed on its side. It caught fire, but firefighters were able to douse the flames quickly.
The accident remains under investigation.
