BUFFALO, Iowa — Financial concerns swirling around Buffalo Ambulance Service prompted the Scott County Health Department on Monday to ask Medic EMS to take over the agency’s service area starting June 1.
Health department director Ed Rivers sent Medic EMS a letter saying he was asked to reassign the service area at Buffalo Ambulance’s request. Rivers said Monday that Buffalo Ambulance director Phil Jones called him earlier in the day to make the request.
“I think it gives us some stability,” Rivers said. “Medic is a solid service and is able to step in and deliver the service.
