AUSTIN — Hill Country first responders wear many hats and, when one is lost, it impacts the departments and the communities they serve. Early Thursday, a funeral service was held for firefighter and EMT Daniel Hampton, who died in the line of duty.
“Everyday our first responders put on the uniform, go to work, never knowing if they’re going to come home for work or not,” said Bill Hussey from the Hill Country 100 Club, which donates thousands to families of fallen first responders.
Another Central Texas man loses his life after saving others. 35-year old Daniel Hampton didn’t survive last week’s crash.
