HOMEWOOD, Pa. — Two ambulances collided Wednesday night while one was carrying a victim of a double shooting.
Both ambulances had responded to the shooting, and the rig carrying the patient crashed into the other near an intersection, according to CBS Pittsburgh.
The two rigs sustained flat tires and a third ultimately transported the woman, who was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Officials said the woman was critically injured in the shooting, which also killed one man, and had gone into cardiac arrest prior to the crash.
The collision did not affect the woman’s treatment, according to officials.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
