CHICAGO — A good Samaritan Uber driver rushed two people to the hospital on Tuesday following a drive-by shooting and subsequent crash.
Michael Bussan had just dropped off a passenger when he heard the crash nearby and drove over to find two injured occupants, one of whom had been shot multiple times in the abdomen and was bleeding severely, according to WGN-TV.
Bussan said he didn’t hesitate to help when one of the young men asked if he could drive him and his brother to the hospital, and he ushered the pair into his SUV.
“I must’ve hit 100 miles per hour at some points,” Bussan told the WGN-TV of the harrowing drive to the hospital. A camera mounted inside the vehicle captured footage of Bussan and the brothers throughout the drive.
The more severely injured brother is now on a ventilator due to blood loss, Bussan said, expressing that he wanted to set up a GoFundMe for the victims. He also said that there was so much blood in his SUV that it will most likely need to be totaled.
