LINYI, China — A guest driving to a wedding in China’s Shandong Province is rescued after his car plunges into a river when torrential rain causes a bridge to collapse.

The unnamed man was driving to a wedding ceremony in Shandong Province in the east of China when his car plunged 35 feet into a river after the bridge he was crossing collapsed in torrential rain.

Onlookers in the city of Linyi filmed the rescue operation as it unfolded.

The driver was trapped in his car as flood waters rose, and mudslides threatened to bury his car.

But a rescue worker clambered onto the crushed vehicle and managed to extricate the man, who was left with bone fractures and a head wound but is expected to make a full recovery.
