PAN’AN, China — A baby boy who was declared dead showed signs of life as he was about to be cremated.
The infant was declared dead the day before and spent the night in the morgue at a temperature of about 10 F.
As workers were preparing to cremate the infant Friday, he suddenly started moaning, MSN reported.
The infant was born prematurely in January. He spent 23 days in an incubator and was then taken home. A few days later, his condition worsened and he was declared dead Thursday.
Before the baby was brought to the morgue, his father wrapped him in two layers of clothing and a thick bag, which might have helped him survive.
The infant was taken to a hospital, and doctors are cautious about his chances of recovery.
