SANDY, Utah — A police officer who crashed his patrol car into a parked car and then a building is believed to have suffered a stroke.
Sandy Police Department officer Dean Carriger, 55, was on a routine patrol when he lost control of the vehicle, FOX13 reports. After hitting a parked car, the impact sent him into a nearby building.
There were no injuries caused by the crash. Carriger was taken to a hospital and is undergoing surgery related to the medical episode
