Volunteer Ind. FF-EMT dies from medical emergency after call

Harrison Township Firefighter-EMT Robert Cree, 72, suffered an apparent heart attack moments after returning home

HARRIS TOWNSHIP, Ind. — An Indiana volunteer firefighter-EMT died from a medical emergency moments after returning home from a call on Sunday.

Harris Township Firefighter-EMT Robert Cree, 72, responded to a medical call at about 7 p.m. and returned home at about 8:10 p.m. before collapsing due to an apparent heart attack a short while later, according to his Supporting Heroes memorial page.

The same crew Cree had responded with during the earlier call responded to his home and rendered aid, but were unable to resuscitate him. Cree had served with the department for nearly 45 years and is survived by his wife Cathy, son Robert, daughter Carla and five grandchildren. He was also a member of the Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association.
