FORT SMITH, Ark. — Officials said the first check for the emergency medical services component of the new statewide trauma system in Arkansas has been written.
The program is designed to designate a number of trauma centers across the state and to provide current first responders with better trauma training.
Organizers said they now have more than $2 million available to help train EMS providers in trauma education and readiness.
