WASHINGTON —The $1.5 trillion spending package, which funds the government through September and was passed by the U.S. House last week, includes a delay in the due date of the Medicare Payment Advisory Committee report on ambulance cost data.

“The delay in the MedPAC report is a victory for the AAA and our members as we spearheaded efforts for the delay,” stated a news release from the American Ambulance Association.

The data collection has been delayed by two years because of the pandemic. The due date was originally March 15, 2023, and, with little new data, might have included recommendations from the 2002 report and affected reimbursement levels.
