SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. — Paramedic Travis Alan Stenberg is accused of stealing medications from the county EMS department and is facing federal charges, WKRN reported.

A federal indictment states that Stenberg stole fentanyl, morphine and ketamine last year for personal use.

Documents say the drugs were removed from their vials and replaced with saline in locked narcotics boxes in a county ambulance.

“We’re not talking about a large amount of money, but we are talking about a position of public trust,” said Tara Wyllie, Assistant District Attorney for Sumner County. “That’s why we have the official misconduct charge.”
