SOUTH KOREA — Paramedics freed a woman from a robot vacuum cleaner that sucked up her hair as she slept.
The woman was taking a nap on the floor – a common practice in South Korea – and woke up to the pain of the gadget entangled in her hair, The Guardian reports. Robot vacuums are equipped with sensors that enable them to steer clear of obstacles and detect dust and other debris on the floor.
The woman, 52, called the fire department with “a desperate rescue plea” and paramedics removed the machine from her hair.
She lost about 10 strands of hair, and was not seriously injured.
