GOLD COAST, Australia — A fisherman who was impaled on a swordfish has been rescued off the Gold Coast.
Emergency authorities say the fisherman was pulling in a swordfish last night when he fell and landed on its bill.
The 20-year-old was on a boat 190 nautical miles off the Gold Coast seaway. Due to the fuel capacity of the rescue helicopter, authorities had to wait for the boat to come within the 100-nautical-mile mark at first light this morning.
