VINELAND, NJ — Vineland police say a repeat-offender stole a paramedic’s marked SUV from the Franklinville Fire Company on Route 47 Tuesday morning.

Two Vineland officers chased the vehicle onto Chestnut Avenue before the shift supervisor called off the pursuit.

The stolen vehicle was traveling at approximately 90 mph when it collided with a minivan.

The suspect in custody is 46-year-old Michael Jones. According to the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office, Jones had stolen three cars in the last three days. He also has many prior arrests.

Jones will be arraigned in Bridgeton Superior Court on Wednesday.

The driver of the minivan has been identified as 81-year-old Alfred Constantino, a life-long resident of Vineland.

He leaves behind his wife, 6 children and 14 grandchildren. The couple planned to soon celebrate 55 years of marriage.
