FLORENCE, Ind. — An Indiana firefighter and EMT is recovering after surviving an explosion at a fire in a riverside debris field.
“Just from head to tail, I feel like I’ve been hit with a baseball bat,” Jeff Craig Fire Department volunteer Jacob Jones said.
Jones, 19, was driving across the bridge at the Markland Dam on his way home from his security job at Florence Mall Friday night when he spotted a fire in a driftwood debris field.
