ELMONT, N.Y. — A N.Y. fire chief and pedestrian were injured in a chain-reaction collision Thursday.
An Elmont fire chief was responding to a fire call when his fire department vehicle was struck by a car exiting a parking lot, according to News Day.
The chief’s vehicle was pushed across the road where it hit a mailbox and pole. In the course of the incident, a pedestrian was also hit, but it is unclear if that person was hit by a vehicle or the mailbox.
With only minor injuries, the chief and pedestrian were taken to the hospital.
The chief and pedestrian have not been identified and the driver of the driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
No charges have been filed.
