LEXINGTON, Mass. — Five Lexington Firefighters are suing the state in an effort to clear their names after the state Department of Public Health suspended their licenses to provide emergency care in July.
The firefighters were among hundreds of emergency medical technicians in the state whose licenses were temporarily suspended because the Department of Public Health said they had false medical training credentials.
But Lexington firefighters Joseph Foley, George-Arthur Robinson, Kenneth Tremblay, John Ritchie, and Mark Schofield filed a suit in Federal Court Thursday claiming they were falsely accused and they were never given the opportunity by the state to be heard.
