GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — The family of John English, a veteran ambulance paramedic who is presumed drowned, has set up an education fund in his honor.
John English, 47, is presumed drowned after he went missing in Lake Michigan on June 30. The Walker resident and father of two reportedly dove into the water from a 37-foot Sea Ray after the boat had stopped on a trip from Muskegon to Grand Haven. He resurfaced from the dive but appeared to be struggling, and efforts of other passengers to get him a life ring failed.
Friends and family of English held a vigil for English at the Grand Haven boardwalkacross from the Coast Guard Station Grand Haven on July 1.
