MADERA COUNTY, Calif. — A firefighter was hospitalized after passing out during a medical call Wednesday.
The volunteer firefighter was assessing a patient when he passed out and fell face first onto the floor, reported Sierra News Online. He was transported to the hospital for facial and head trauma; he was treated for several lacerations to his mouth and forehead and dehydration.
He was released from the hospital around seven hours later. The firefighter will return to duty after he is medically cleared next week.
