3 Fla. firefighters hurt when car slams into apparatus

All of the injuries are non-life threatening; the rig was en route to a fire at the time of the crash

LAKE WORTH, Fla. — Three firefighters suffered injuries after a car slammed into them while responding to a house fire in Lake Worth, says Captain Albert Borroto, spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.

The incident happened shortly before 12:30 Saturday afternoon, says Borroto. According to Borroto, fire rescue crews were responding to a structure fire at an abandoned house in the 700 block of South “E” Street in Lake Worth when a car slammed into the fire engine. The accident happened near the intersection of N Dixie Highway and Lucerne Avenue, says Borroto.
