MCKINNEY, Texas — A boy has invented a device that could potentially prevent children from dying in hot cars.
NY Post reported that 10-year-old Bishop Curry said he was inspired to create “Oasis” after a neighborhood child died in a hot minivan.
Curry’s device, which is currently in a design phase, would attach to a car seat and detect if a child is left inside the vehicle. It would then blow cool air until parents and authorities are notified.
Curry has a provisional patent on “Oasis,” and he has introduced the idea at an auto safety conference in Michigan.
The family has a GoFundMe page to support the invention.
