Patrick Moore, President of NAEMT noted, “This new program allows us to collaborate with fellow EMS organizations to create one national awards program that focuses all of our attention on the excellent work undertaken by those in our profession. In honoring these outstanding award recipients, we hope to draw more attention to the EMS profession and all EMS practitioners who provide quality emergency patient care to their communities every day.”

“Recognizing excellence gives us the opportunity to showcase the individuals and organizations that rise above the job description and participate actively in the community,” says EMS Magazine Publisher Scott Cravens. Nominations for the 2010 awards will be available online beginning in February 2010 on all of the participating organizations’ web sites. Formed in 1975 and today more than 30,000 members strong, NAEMT is the nation’s only association representing the professional interests of all EMS practitioners, including paramedics, emergency medical technicians, first responders and other professionals working in pre-hospital emergency medicine. NAEMT members work in all sectors of EMS, including government service agencies, fire departments, hospital-based ambulance services, private companies, industrial and special operations settings, and in the military.
