ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. — A paramedic is being hailed as a hero after saving the life of a 3-year-old boy, who was pulled from a hotel pool where the medic was vacationing.
The Press Enterprise reported that paramedic Paul Holaday was vacationing with family when he saw a commotion around the pool and went to investigate.
The 3-year-old boy had been pulled from the pool, was not breathing and did not have a heart beat, according to the report.
“Paul saw the commotion and went over there and began CPR,” Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi said. “After a couple of minutes the boy was vomiting and coughing.”
The boy was taken to a hospital in serious condition but is expected to survive, according to the report.
