APCO Launches ‘Members Helping Members’ Web Forum to Assist Gulf Coast Region PSAPs

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International today launched the “Members Helping Members” web forum to assist the public safety answering points (PSAPs) in the Gulf Coast region affected by Hurricane Katrina.

“APCO members are all about helping,” APCO International President Greg Ballentine said. “They do it every day in their working lives in communications centers and emergency response roles all around the country and the world.”

The APCO International “Members Helping Members” web forum is meant to serve as a way for APCO International members in the Gulf Coast region to contact other members with either their individual or organizational needs following the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina. In addition, APCO International members willing to offer assistance can use the forum to get in touch with those in need.
