HEMET, Calif. — Ambulances could soon be paying for dispatch services alerting them to medical emergencies in the city.
Tasked with finding ways to cut costs and save money, Hemet police and fire officials are considering a plan to charge a “paramedic dispatch fee” to help recoup the costs for dispatching services for private paramedics.
Police and fire officials say they hope to bring up the proposal when the city renegotiates its ambulance service contract next year.
