BURLINGTON COUNTY, N.J. — The county’s emergency medical services coordinator isn’t sure that making all EMS squads part of a regional system is the best idea, but it’s a notion he’s willing to consider.
“Sometimes having bureaucracy could end up putting more obstacles in your way,” Don Horner said. “But anything that provides better service to the residents of the state, I’m willing to try.”
The EMS System Review, a report released by the state Legislature last week, calls for a massive overhaul of emergency medical services in New Jersey and recommends organizing professional and volunteer squads into Northern, Central and Southern regions.
