BROOKVILLE, Kan. — An Ellsworth County EMS ambulance transporting a patient collided with a truck hauling hay Tuesday morning, injuring an EMT and a paramedic.
The Salina Post reported both vehicles were traveling eastbound when the ambulance tried to pass the truck, which started to turn left at the same time, leading to the ambulance colliding with the truck’s left side.
The EMT who was driving the ambulance, 34-year-old Jeremiah Brown, had to be extricated and suffered minor injuries. The paramedic on board, Ricky Soukup, 49, suffered minor injuries as well.
The patient, who was experiencing respiratory distress and the truck driver weren’t injured in the accident.
