WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. — Aspirus Riverview Hospital and Mid-State Technical College are partnering to open a state-of-the-art simulation center to train healthcare professionals.
According to a press release, the Mid-State Health Care Simulation Center will open in 2020 to provide Mid-State Technical College (Mid-State) students with additional simulated courses, which aim to complement their current clinical training in fields that include EMT-Paramedic, Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, Registered Nurse, among others.
The Legacy Foundation of Central Wisconsin awarded a grant to the two entities for renovation and equipment costs. Once fully up and running, the center will be equipped with nine manikins for students to practice any clinical scenario. The 12,000-square-foot center will also include five hospital rooms, five exam rooms, one lab, one medication room and two large classrooms.
Students can also review simulation sessions if they opt to record them for debriefing purposes.
