Attacks on medics this week: shot at, punched and flashed

Patients, patients’ relatives and passersby assaulted paramedics, EMTs and firefighters as they did their job

This week medics have been shot at, flashed, punched and had fruit thrown at them.

Medics shot at by patient’s fiancé

Medics were shot at by a patient’s fiancé while assisting the woman at her residence. The man because upset for unknown reasons and shot two rounds at the medics as they ran for cover.

EMT/firefighters punched by patient

Two EMT/firefighters were attacked while treating a patient in the back of an ambulance. The EMTs had responded to a call for an unresponsive man. As they treated him he allegedly began to punch them, North Jersey reported.

Man flashes paramedic

A 52-year-old man flashed a female paramedic as she was helping him into the back of the ambulance. The man had drank 12 cans of beer, inhaled two butane canisters and smoked three marijuana joints laced with spice, the Lancashire Telegraph reported.

Fruit thrown at ambulance

A fruit was thrown at an ambulance as it drove by. The London Ambulance Service wrote on Twitter: “Please don’t throw fruit at our ambulance when we drive past you. It distracts the driver and is a waste a perfectly tasty bit of fruit.”
