SALFORD, England — An ambulance was targeted while transporting a child to the hospital.
BBC reported that a North West Ambulance Service EMS provider and a nurse, who was accompanying the child, were covered with glass after someone threw an object at the door window.
The North West Ambulance Service called the incident a “mindless act of vandalism.”
“It is really sad that we have to once again report a mindless act of vandalism against our staff,” a spokesperson said. “What may seem like a prank can have serious implications - it can endanger our staff and patients.”
The agency added that no one was hurt in the incident.
“Not only could it cost a huge amount of money in repair bills, it can put vital vehicles off the road meaning they are unable to be used to respond to emergencies and can even endanger our staff and patients,” the spokesperson said.
