The Star
TORONTO, Canada — For Toronto paramedic Ryan Richardson, art imitated life instead of the other way around.
If you watched the Flashpointseries finale of Flashpoint you would have seen Richardson as a medic trying to save lives in a makeshift hospital at the Air Canada Centre as Toronto was under attack.
The thing is, Richardson, 29, has been a real paramedic since graduating from Humber College in 2006. He just started a full-time job with Toronto EMS, meaning he’ll get to respond to major emergencies in a big city, much like the characters he’s played in shows like Flashpoint, Cracked and Warehouse 13. Richardson, who lives in Burlington, has always wanted to be a paramedic in Toronto. He never considered acting.
