GROESBECK, Texas — Funeral services were held Friday for a paramedic that suffered a heart attack and died in the line of duty Saturday morning.
Hundreds gathered in person and online through the KBTX live stream of the event. “It’s not until a loss like this that we’re shaken out of our complacency and out of our routines, and we begin to look at what’s really important,” said Jewett EMS Chaplain Mark Jones.
To say their good byes to a hero lost in the line of duty. “Folks, death always comes as a shock, always comes at the wrong time,” Jones said. Michael Howard saved a lot of lives in his 22 years as a paramedic. “There’s not a soul in here today who believed that a week ago we’d be in this place at this hour for this reason.”
