MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Authorities in West Tennessee say a school bus crash has injured the driver and 10 children.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says the bus carrying 32 students crossed a highway center line and struck a Freightliner truck Monday afternoon. The bus then left the roadway and hit a tree.
Shelby County Fire Department spokesman Brent Perkins says the bus driver is in serious condition. He says 52-year-old Jacqueline McKinley was the only one who was seriously hurt. The injured were taken to hospitals.
The driver of the truck, which was towing a loaded trailer, was injured but didn’t go to the hospital.
Highway patrol troopers are investigating.
