Paramedic Rhona Chambers will run, bike and swim, along with two colleagues, in today’s N.Y.C. Triathlon.
Rhona Chambers spends most days racing to emergencies as a paramedic at St. Vincent’s Hospital Manhattan.
But this morning, Chambers, 40, a former model, will be involved in another sort of race — the sixth annual New York City Triathlon, a grueling swimming, biking and running event that only the toughest survive.
“I’m looking to win it; I know I won’t,” said Chambers. “You always say you’re out to do your personal best, but when you’re in it, something comes over you, you turn into an animal.”
