CAMARILLO, Calif. — Authorities in Southern California say a small plane carrying four people has crashed into storage facility near an airport.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Allen Kenitzer says the Beechcraft Bonanza caught fire after going down Saturday afternoon in Camarillo, about 35 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
Three people on board the single-engine aircraft escaped with minor injuries. One person is hospitalized in serious condition.
Nobody on the ground was injured.
Fire officials tell the Ventura County Star that several units at Wells Cargo Self Storage caught fire. The extent of the damage was not immediately known.
Kenitzer says the plane took off from Chino Airport and reportedly lost power during its approach to Camarillo Airport.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
