WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A heroin overdose victim escaped from paramedics while being put inside an ambulance Wednesday. The ordeal was caught on camera by a photojournalist.
In the video, you can see paramedics taking the suspected drug overdose victim out of a Wal-Mart on a stretcher. Before crews could load the man into the ambulance, he unbuckles himself, jumps off the stretcher, runs away and nearly knocks over the photojournalist.
Police said the man was found unconscious inside the store’s bathroom suffering from an overdose, according to CBS12.com. Crews administered Narcan to reverse the overdose effect.
Authorities searched the surrounding area, but did not locate the man.
