NEW YORK — A Bronx man high on drugs stole a hospital ambulance early Monday, police sources said, taking it on a drive through Manhattan before being busted by cops.
“It appears to be a high-induced joy ride,” said a police source.
Michael Navarro, 30, swiped the unoccupied ambulance from outside Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
The two emergency workers assigned to the vehicle were picking up a wheelchair from the hospital when their vehicle disappeared, sources said. The driver flagged down a housing cop on foot patrol.
