5 injured after Calif. Sheriff’s patrol car rear-ends ambulance

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — An ambulance was rear-ended Sunday by a patrol car, leaving five injured.

The ambulance was transporting a county jail prisoner when the crash occurred, reported Nooz Hawk.

The inmate and deputy sustained a head injury, while three other first responders in the ambulance sustained minor injuries.

The deputy driving the patrol car rear-ended the AMR ambulance which had slowed after a traffic signal changed from green to yellow.

All five were transported to the hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
