HUDSON, N.C. — Five people were injured and transported to hospitals after an ambulance collided with a car at the intersection of southbound U.S. Highway 321 and Mt. Herman Road, the Hickory Daily Record reported.
The Caldwell County EMS rig’s lights and siren were on, and the crew was transporting a patient. The patient, a paramedic, a nurse and another EMS provider had non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle was airlifted and had serious injuries, according to Master Trooper Jeff Swagger.
