ASPEN HILL, Md. — A firefighter was seriously injured when a fire truck and ambulance crashed into each other while responding to a hazmat call Thursday afternoon.
The Montgomery County fire truck and ambulance were coming from different stations, NBC Washington reported. Six other firefighters were evaluated and released with non-life threatening injuries. One is in serious condition, according to the report.
According to a tweet from the Montgomery County Fire Spokesman Pete Piringer, members were reported pinned by the collision.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
Last week, a Montgomery County ladder truck caught fire responding to an emergency.
