FARMINGTON, Maine — An Industry man was injured Wednesday morning when his car started to slide on an ice-rutted Industry Road/Route 43 and ended up crashing through a snowbank and rolling at least twice, police officer Justin Blais said.

Paul Mullin, 54, received head lacerations and was treated at the scene by NorthStar EMS ambulance crew, Blais said.

Mullin was driving up a hill from Industry and had passed the Clearwater Veterinary Clinic when he saw oncoming traffic. He tried moving to the right to be safer, Blais said.

Mullin felt the Subaru Outback slide, and he over corrected. The car went through the snowbank, rolled and went off the road at an angle and landed at least 50 feet away from where it left the road, he said.

Mullin was able to walk to the ambulance.

He declined to go to a hospital by ambulance, Blais said. Mullin’s wife came to the scene and took him home, where they plan to keep a close eye on him, he said.

Farmington firefighters directed traffic and assisted at the scene in the 14-degree temperatures.
