CHICAGO — A woman was arrested Thursday after trying to hitch a ride on the running board of an ambulance, and punching a police officer.
Police responded to a call about a woman “causing a disturbance with a Chicago Fire Department ambulance,” DNAinfo Chicago reports.
Officers found Anastasia Rhodes, 20, “highly intoxicated.” When they asked her to leave, she jumped onto the ambulance as it was leaving with a patient inside, and began screaming in an officer’s face and punching him in the chest when he asked her to get down, according to the police report.
Rhodes allegedly wrapped her legs around the officer’s waist, causing him to fall and cut his arms. She was charged with felony aggravated battery and assault, and held on $20,000 bail.
