AMHERST, N.Y. — An EMT was injured in a crash involving the ambulance he/she was driving and a van transporting students.
The ambulance was transporting a non-emergency patient when it attempted to turn left and was struck by a van traveling in the opposite direction, causing the ambulance to tip over, WGRZ reported.
The EMT was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries, while the patient was transported in another ambulance. It is unclear whether the patient and the van driver were hurt, but the students traveling in the van were uninjured.
Police are investigating the collision.
