JUPITER, Fla. — Hundreds of colleagues, family and friends attended the funeral for two paramedics killed in an ambulance crash.
Paul Besaw and Lahiri Garcia died in a collision after dropping a patient off. Palm Beach Post reported that at the funeral, Besaw’s 5-year-old daughter, Allison, sharply saluted the procession at the entrance of the church.
“(Allison) has a strong sense of pride. Her dad was a paramedic, so she had lots of exposure to law enforcement. And she loved her dad so much,” Allison’s uncle, Brett Witherspoon, said.
Sixty-five ambulances and rescue vehicles followed Palm Beach County Sheriff Office motorcycle officers in the procession.
