OSTERVILLE, Mass. — A multi-vehicle crash in Massachusetts involving a fire department ambulance injured six people, including three firefighters, on Monday morning.

The Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills (COMM) Fire Department responded to the scene where a Mashpee Fire Department ambulance and four other vehicles were involved in a wreck, according to Hyannis News.

The six people who were injured in the crash were transported to two local hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Mashpee Fire Chief Thomas Rullo said that the three firefighters injured in the crash were expected to be released from the hospital later on Monday, according to the Cape Cod Times.

The Mashpee ambulance had entered service in mid-December and is now out of service with significant damage to its front end, Rullo said.

The Barnstable Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
