MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A driver’s refusal to yield to an ambulance resulted in a crash Tuesday that injured two people.
WREG reported an ambulance with its lights and sirens on reached an intersection, and the driver of the ambulance repeatedly honked at a vehicle and almost came to a complete stop before driving through.
Before making it past the intersection, another vehicle hit the ambulance while attempting to make it through a light and caused it to crash into a pole, according to police.
The driver of the vehicle, Justin Amos, said he saw the ambulance but did not yield because he had a green light.
The ambulance passenger was transported to the hospital, but is expected to be OK, and the driver of the ambulance was treated at the scene.
Amos was issued a citation by police.
